Khashoggi murder report to make US-Saudi relations tense


Joe Biden had his first known conversation as president with the Saudi Arabian king at a time of tensions over the expected release of a declassified U.S. intelligence report examining any role the king’s son played in the brutal killing of a U.S.-based journalist. U.S. officials are expected to soon release its findings on the killing of the journalist, Jamal Khashoggi. Saudi security officials, including men, frequently seen publicly accompanying Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, killed and dismembered Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist then working as a columnist for the Washington Post, inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018.
