Jurgen Klopp insists it’s easy to spot the difference Patrick Vieira has made at Crystal Palace in such a short space of time ahead of Saturday’s Premier League match between Liverpool and the improving Eagles.

The Arsenal legend cut his managerial teeth at New York City FC, before a mixed spell at Nice came to a premature end last season following his sacking.

Palace, themselves, cut their ties with the long-serving Roy Hodgson back in May and plumped for Vieria as his replacement, despite his checkered early managerial record.

Vieira has attempted to move away from the safety first tactics employed by Hodgson and inject a fresh sense of fun and adventure in Palace’s attacking play.

After a difficult start against Chelsea, Palace picked up an encouraging draw at West Ham before thrashing Spurs 3-0 last weekend thanks to two goals from debutant striker Odsonne Edouard.

Rating the job Vieira has done so far, Klopp said: ‘Massive, they are proper football playing side I have to say. He has obviously a clear idea how he wants to set it up.

‘You can see they brought in new players and used them. I always say it’s incredible how strong they are up front with all the players they have.

‘Now Edouard came in and scored twice. Ayew, Benteke the boy from Mainz and Zaha obviously so that’s incredible quality.

‘In midfield you have Kouyate back in his position, Gallagher, I’m not sure you can still say he’s a talent even if he plays for the England Under-21s he is a really, really good player.

‘The third position McArthur or whoever can play there, they have a decent team and a real football playing idea.

‘It’s a change and they will do well I’m pretty sure.’
