Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is set to return to the Reds’ starting line-up for their trip to Brighton after rejoining first team training.

The England international has missed the last two matches with a hamstring strain that he sustained on duty with the Three Lions.

Henderson’s absence came at the worst possible time for Jurgen Klopp, who is already without Thiago Alcantara while Fabinho has been forced to fill in at centre-back.

However, Henderson was pictured in training with his team-mates today in what is a major boost for the depleted Reds.

Liverpool’s official Twitter account released a video of Henderson in training to celebrate the midfielder’s return.

Klopp will be looking for a major improvement on Wednesday’s performance in a 2-0 defeat to Atalanta.

Liverpool failed to register a single shot on target against the Serie A side and the German vowed to make changes for their trip to the south coast.

‘Brighton make the pitch really big and we will have to run a lot,’ Klopp told BT Sport.

‘We have to make changes for Saturday, and we will have to make changes next Tuesday. It is a tough period that we have to go through’.
