iPhone 13 Pro wallpapers by artist ‘Basic Apple Guy’ show the iPhone’s internal components using same-size schematics in 11 different colors.
A digital artist has created an iPhone transparent wallpaper pack showing the internals of the iPhone 13 Pro very clearly. These wallpapers complement one of the brightest, most vibrant, and highly-acclaimed displays on the iPhone 13 Pro series used by Apple. These Super Retina displays on the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max are incredibly sharp and have a high pixel density of roughly 460ppi (pixels per inch). And, with that sort of clarity, preinstalled wallpaper may not always do justice to the glorious displays.
Although there is a considerable variety of high-resolution wallpapers for the iPhones’ rich displays, one particular category of wallpapers that have inspired much awe in recent years is the one that showcases the iPhone’s internals. With phone teardowns becoming popular on the web — especially YouTube, many have attempted to make transparent iPhone wallpapers that give a glance of what’s inside the iPhone without actually having to open it up. iFixit has also periodically launched wallpapers based on its teardown analyses of various devices in the past.
The latest to offer an iPhone 13 Pro transparent wallpaper bundle is a digital artist who creates wallpapers inspired by Apple products. He’s known as Basic Apple Guy. These wallpapers are digital illustrations that replicate what is inside the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max in the form of a schematic. The collection includes eight wallpapers in different hue options with titles such as Xray, Sunset, Blueprint, Slate, M1, Neon Blue, etc., along with three special edition versions as tributes to the artist’s idols.
Transparent Wallpapers That Match iPhone 13 Pro’s Exact Dimensions
The artist says these illustrations comprise “hundreds of layers” to represent the “intricate interior network of tightly integrated components.” The components visible in the schematics include the motherboard, daughterboards, all screws on the boards, the Apple A15 Bionic chip, iPhone 13 Pro’s L-shaped battery and the Taptic Engine — the vibration motor for haptic feedback — among others. These wallpapers draw inspiration from iFixit‘s iPhone 13 Pro teardown wallpapers that are actual images and an actual X-ray scan of the new iPhones. Although inspired, the artist claims to have created every element from scratch — and then resized them for the Pro Max model due to the different spacing between the components and different sizes.
The wallpapers are elaborately designed as per the dimensions of the displays on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The artist says these wallpapers will fit the iPhone 13 Pro series the best but can also be used on the vanilla iPhone 13 and the iPhone 13 Mini. However, in the case of the non-Pro phones, there can be unnecessary cropping due to the differences in aspect ratios. It is also recommended to keep Perspective Zoom off and then pinch out the images to fit the display’s edges when setting them as wallpapers.
The wallpapers are available on the Basic Apple Guy‘s website linked above. Each iPhone 13 Pro transparent wallpaper can be downloaded individually in high resolution based on a users’ choice. Lastly, the artist also shares their plan to create more color patterns for these wallpapers over the coming months allowing users to personalize iPhones relatively freely — even though nowhere as liberally when users consider the ease of customization on Android devices.
