Inside the biggest overwater villa in the Maldives – which costs an eye-watering £19k a night


FOR a holiday of ultimate luxury, you can stay at the biggest overwater villa in the Maldives – if you have £19,000 per night to spare.

The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort has reopened to tourists, with a very lavish package holiday called the Ultra Luxe package.

The package includes staying at the John Jacob Astor Estate which is the largest overwater villa in the Maldives, with three bedrooms, as well as terrace and pool deck.

The 16,500sqft villa also has its own 92sqft infinity pool overlooking the sea, and even its own “beach” above the water.

Inside, guests have a private home cinema, along with a private chef, pantry and formal dining room.

If you want to spend some time outside of the villa, the package also includes a number of experiences, which include spa treatments, cooking classes and unlimited activities such as fishing or a private beach sandbank trip.

Daily breakfast at the signature ALBA restaurant is included, along with champagne and caviar.

Vincent Pauchon, general manager of The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort said that travellers now want “elevated privacy and premier luxuries that can be experienced with fewer to no crowds” following the launch of the package.

He added: “Each element in this package is reflective of that and is thoughtfully designed for our guests to live exquisitely, safely.”

If you have £76,000 to spare, with each night costing £19,000 and it being a minimum four-night stay, it includes a private seaplane from Male to Vommuli Island too.

The Maldives is a popular honeymoon destination, with Brits recently flocking to the islands after they opened up to the UK during the pandemic.

Another huge overwater villa opened in the Maldives earlier this year at Soneva Fushi.

The villa has a 19m waterslide, private pool and retractable roof as well as glass floor panels and outdoor bath.

You can even live in a luxurious Maldives resort for the whole year, for just £30pp, per night.
