Indian ad industry to see more than 20% growth in 2021: GroupM Forecast

Indian advertising industry is expected to see more than 20% growth in the calendar year 2021, according to GroupM’s mid-year forecast. The agency now expects global advertising, including US politics, to exceed $1 trillion in 2026, up from $641 billion in 2020.

Several other markets like China, the UK and Brazil are expected to see growth similar to India.

In 2021, the advertising industry globally will witness, “19% (excluding the US political advertising) a significant upward revision from our December forecast and 15% higher ad revenue than 2019,” the global mid-year forecast by GroupM said.

Digital advertising is expected to grow 26%, television advertising by 9.3% and outdoor advertising by 19%, according to the forecast.
