IAIN Duncan Smith is in line to be Liz Truss’s enforcer as Government Chief Whip in a stunning Cabinet comeback.

The former Tory leader is herding MPs for the frontrunner after helping Ms Truss unite the right of the party behind her candidacy.

New appointments to the Cabinet could include rising star Ranil Jayawardena at Environment and 5th place Tom Tugendhat as the Security Minister at the top table.

Key Truss ally Therese Coffey would likely head up the Cabinet Office and James Cleverly is tipped to be the next Foreign Secretary.

Last night former Health Secretary Sajid Javid endorsed Liz, but sources close to Truss say he was unlikely to return to the Cabinet
