Hundreds of storage units now available at new U-Haul in Framingham – Milford Daily News

FRAMINGHAM – Over 600 storage units are now available at a new U-Haul facility in Framingham.

The 93,088-square-foot U-Haul Moving & Storage of Framingham-Southborough at 15 Pleasant St. Connector introduced the completed facility on Friday, featuring its 636 self-storage units, according to a press release from U-Haul.

The indoor climate-controlled storage rooms are fitted with high-tech security features and customers will have access to an indoor loading area to ensure protection from the weather. The finished store includes a retail showroom featuring materials like hitch accessories, moving supplies and boxes, and U-Box portable storage containers will also be on site and available to rent.

“We’re investing in Framingham, and now we’re able to show off this state-of-the-art moving and self-storage facility,” said U-Haul store general manager Mason Souliere in the press release. “This building was constructed in 1966 and was vacant for many years. We invite the community to stop by and see the work we’ve put into it.”

The property was acquired in March 2018 and was formerly occupied by Genzyme, which was once the third largest biotech company in the world, according to the press release.

“U-Haul has been repurposing old buildings for decades to eliminate blight and benefit the communities we serve,” said Scott Chase, U-Haul Company of Eastern Massachusetts president in the press release. “Our goal is to provide our neighbors with residential mobility and a clean, secure storage facility where our they will want to keep their belongings.”

Acquiring the property was driven by U-Haul Corporate Sustainability initiatives, which supports lowering a community’s carbon footprint through reusing existing buildings.
