What is Aadhaar
Aadhaar number is a 12-digit random number provided by the UIDAI (“Authority”) to residents of India. Individuals who are a Indian resident, regardless of age or gender, can freely enrol to receive an Aadhaar number. The resident can schedule an appointment for themselves, a family member, or a friend using the online appointment service.

Individuals can book appointments at UIDAI run Aadhaar Seva Kendras or at Registrar run Aadhaar Seva Kendras.
How to book online appointment for Aadhaar enrollment
Step 1: Visit https://uidai.gov.in/
Step 2: Under ‘My Aadhaar’, click on ‘Book an Appointment
Step 3: Select from Book an Appointment at UIDAI run Aadhaar Seva Kendra
Step 4: Select your city/location from the dropdown
Step 5: Click on ‘Proceed to book Appointment’
Step 6: Click on ‘Book Appointment’ and enter your mobile number
Step 7: Click on ‘New Aadhaar’ or ‘Aadhaar update’ tab and enter Captcha and click on ‘Generate OTP’
Step 8: Enter OTP and click on verify
Step 9: Enter Appointment details such as State, City and Aadhaar Seva kendra, select language and click next
Step 10: Enter personal details and address details along with proof and click the Next tab
Step 11: Select the time slot and click Next.
You will receive a message of confirming your appointment.
How to find the nearest enrollment center
To enrol for Aadhaar, you must go to an Enrolment Agency-run Aadhaar Enrolment centre. You can also use the “Locate Enrolment Center” or https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/easearch.aspx to find the nearest Enrolment Center. To discover the nearest enrolment centre, you must first input your state, district, and locality.
You will need a valid Proof of Identity (with a photograph), a Proof of Address, and a Proof of Date of Birth to enrol. You may utilise a single document to satisfy several requirements if it is listed in the approved list.
Charges for Aadhaar Services
The rates that every resident must pay in order to use Aadhaar Services at any Aadhaar Seva Kendra of their choice have been established by the UIDAI. These are the following:
- Aadhaar Enrolment: FREE
- Mandatory Biometric update for kids (at age 5 and 15 years): FREE
- Any Biometric update with or without Demographic Update*: Rs 100
- Only Demographic update* by residents: Rs. 50
- Download Aadhaar & Coloured Print: Rs. 30
- *Update of more than one field on single instance will be considered as one update
