BORIS JOHNSON suffered an early election blow yesterday when Culture Secretary Nicky Morgan joined Amber Rudd in quitting as an MP.
Ms Morgan said she was stepping down due to the abuse MPs face, which was having a “clear impact” on her family.
Former Home Secretary Ms Rudd announced she was also quitting as an MP, but made it clear she wanted to have the Tory whip restored.
But in a withering letter made public, chief whip Mark Spencer refused.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn is expected to kickstart Labour’s election campaign today with a vow to tackle “the few who run a corrupt system.”
