Five local coffee shops to get a snack or do your work – Enterprise News

BROCKTON – A nice cup of coffee and a quiet place to do work may sound reasonable but also may be hard to come by. But don’t worry, we’ve found five places to enjoy light refreshments and a good vibe to tackle work.

In this installment of Brockton Eats with Alisha, we’re traveling near and wide for places that make you want to work a little more with the extra push of amazing sandwiches, pastries, baked goods and most importantly, caffeine!

These weekly lists of tidbits and food finds are not restaurant reviews but go beyond a bare-bones round-up. Staff writer Alisha Saint-Ciel gives tips and takes to help Brockton-area foodies find those mouth-watering hidden gems, old favorites, and exciting new offerings.

The Garden Café – 245 Main St., Brockton

Right in the heart of downtown is a café inspired by Haiti’s lush green gardens, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

You can indulge in homemade chicken or pumpkin soup, salad, wraps, natural juice, grab-and-go pastries, breakfast sandwiches, hot or cold tea, and coffee. The best part is that there are plenty of seating areas to do work, have a meeting, or invite a coworker to join you.

The motto around the cafe is “health is wealth,” and taking care of your body is essential, but it should also taste delicious, the owner said. The local café is nestled right inside the Money Market Inc., on the corner and across the street from Ideal Jewelry & Loan.

A mother-daughter duo opened the café in Whitman to give customers a place to enjoy a bite and a room to relax on plush leather couches. Come in and enjoy a cup of coffee, connect to the Wi-Fi, and enjoy the pure hustle and bustle of the baristas.

The menu is filled with organic coffee, breakfast sandwiches, natural fruit smoothies, panini-pressed sandwiches, acai bowls, and sweets from the bakery.

A few popular items include the turkey Reuben panini: sliced turkey, provolone cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing.

Yippie Kay Yay: egg, cheese, bacon, sausage and avocado on a bagel.

Bull Rider Burrito: eggs, avocado, chipotle sauce with bacon in a wrap.

This “Egyptian oasis” out of “Aladdin” has found its way into Abington, bringing a twist of northern African and Mediterranean cuisine, freshly baked treats, and hot coffee to the area.

Climb your magic carpet and explore the ambiance at Yaz’s Boutique Café with its unique décor of Egyptian artifacts, textiles from Morocco, and handmade tapestries hanging on the wall.

The menu is comprised of smoothies, immunity-boosting shots in several flavors, acai bowls, and made-to-order hot sandwiches.

Delight your tastebuds in the unique flavor combinations:

Royal Lox croissant – smoked salmon, house-made veggie cream cheese, capers, ribboned cucumber, and bib lettuce.

Halloumi & Basterma croissant – Egyptian prosciutto, halloumi cheese.

Sausage, egg & cheese croissant – house-made sausage, baked eggs, cheddar cheese, sweet heat maple syrup.

Pistachio Cheesecake croissant- plan croissant filled with pistachio cheesecake and topped with baklava dust.

Take a sip of specialty coffee in over a dozen different ways here at Elvera’s Café. The coffee shop, located in the busy downtown area of Brockton, has a diverse menu of breakfast sandwiches, bagels, snacks, scones, muffins, cookies, and croissants. The café is a hidden gem with a beautiful outdoor view of the street, a perfect place to tend to work. I highly recommend trying the ice caramel nut Biscotti, creamy toffee, mint Oreo cookie, and iced coffee.

The Boundless Bean is an inclusive coffee shop that opened in Bridgewater to serve the community by hiring employees with differing abilities, including individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism.

As for the menu, there’s a large variety of specialty coffee flavors sustainably sourced by Snowy Owls, as well as other food items, including soup, baked goods, bagels, and, in the fall, breakfast sandwiches.

Specialty coffee flavors include caramel, mocha, hazelnut, coconut, white chocolate, pumpkin, cinnamon roll, caramel apple, apple crisp, and maple.

Sweet treats include breakfast bread, brownies, brown butter toffee blondies, cake pop, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate croissants, and cinnamon rolls.
