(Reuters) – German chemicals group Evonik Industries on Friday said it plans to invest hundreds of millions of euros to build a Slovakian production plant for rhamnolipids, which are used in many consumer goods including cosmetics.

Evonik gave no further detail on the actual sum to be invested but said the new plant will strengthen the company’s partnership with consumer goods group Unilever (LON:).

The new plant is expected to be operational in two years, Evonik added.
