ESTERO, Fla. – An Estero Village Council candidate curses about Republican leaders on Facebook.

Patty Whitehead is currently on the Estero Design and Review Board. She is also running for Village Council in next week’s election.

Whitehead posted several times in the past few months, using the f-word and other swears to describe President Trump, Gov. Ron DeSantis, and Sen. Rick Scott. She called Trump a “worthless pig.”

Estero Mayor Jim Boesch wasn’t aware of the posts until we told him Thursday.

“Shocked. Shame on her because that is not representative of the village of Estero,” the Mayor said.

“If you are using that type of language, that is not going to be a good track for you to be running,” Boesch said.

We reached out to Whitehead. She said she believed her Facebook account had been set to private and only visible to her friends when she created the posts. The Mayor said he would have a personal meeting with Whitehead.

Count on us to let you know what happens at Tuesday’s election.
