Enterprise reopening lobby after COVID closure – Beaumont Enterprise

Some 20 months after The Beaumont Enterprise first suspended its front lobby hours, we’re ready to accept guests once again.

The Enterprise first suspended lobby hours March 17, 2020 — shortly after newspaper staff members began to work from home as the COVID-19 pandemic first began its rise across Southeast Texas.

Those staff members have been slowly phased back into working from the office — following certain company-established coronavirus protocol — and now we’re ready to welcome all of you back, too.

Effective Tuesday, the lobby will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The front doors will be unlocked during this time frame, but visitors will be required to wear masks while in the building.

“Our readers are a big part of what makes The Beaumont Enterprise great. We had to keep the lobby closed to keep visitors and staff members alike safe during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Regional Circulation Director Paul Banister. “But we’re looking forward to seeing you all in-person once again.”

Some staff members still are working a hybrid schedule, working some days from home and others from the office. So, if you’re looking to speak with a specific person, it still is a good idea to reach out to them beforehand if possible.

Contact information for all departments can be found on the “contact us” page at www.beaumontenterprise.com.

The Beaumont Public Health Department confirmed just nine new cases of COVID-19 on Monday — down from more than 100 most days late this summer.
