Gareth Southgate has confirmed that captain Harry Kane will be unavailable for Tuesday night’s clash against Belgium after the striker was sent back to Bayern Munich to undergo treatment for an ankle injury.

Ollie Watkins led the line in place of England’s record goalscorer on Saturday and will battle it out with Ivan Toney for the starting spot up top in midweek.

Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker limped off during the first half against Brazil with a suspected hamstring injury and will likely sit Tuesday night out.

Jordan Henderson and Cole Palmer have returned to training and are expected to be available for selection against Belgium.

For Belgium, Kevin de Bruyne will be unavailable after he withdrew from the squad last week.
