The PSG strikers formed a brilliant partnership on the pitch but it seems they didn’t get on well on a personal level.
Edinson Cavani is one of four players Zlatan Ibrahimovic has ‘hated’ throughout his career.
That is according to former LA Galaxy player Michael Ciani, a former teammate of the Milan striker in the MLS.
Manchester United talisman Cavani and the Swedish international formed a brilliant partnership on the pitch at PSG as their pair led the line together for the French side between 2013 and 2016.
But according to Ciani, they didn’t get on well on a personal level and the Uruguayan was one of four players Ibrahimovic came across that he ‘hated’.
Speaking to RMC Sport, he said: “If you are close to Cavani, Ibra does not like it.
“Either you are with Ibra, or you are against him.
“He told me that everything was fine with Laurent Blanc at PSG.
“The only person he not get along with was Cavani.
“He told me that he only hated three or four people companions in his career… and one of them was Cavani.”
Ibrahimovic left PSG to join United, a path Cavani would eventually follow as he arrived at Old Trafford last summer.
The striker has rounded into form just at the right time as he fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men into the Europa League final with a brace against Roma on Thursday night.
Cavani has an option to extend his stay by another 12 months but has yet to make a decision on his future.
Solskjaer said: I have kept in touch with Edi and we keep an open dialogue. He’s still unsure what he wants to do next season, which is fine.
“It has not been an easy year – either for him or the rest of the world so he still wants time to make his mind up.
“I’m very sure we will get the good version of Edinson for the rest of the season. He knows this is the business end of the season.”
