Dave Ramsey suggests how a ‘broke’ couple in their 50s can get by in retirement

“It may mean some vacations they always went on, they can’t. Always is over.

“Saving for retirement when you’re 55 and have nothing is difficult”.

He explained to Mr Hogan that when people are in this situation, before they can start thinking of any type of luxury, or any type of lifestyle or thing that costs money, retirement needs to come first.

Retirement should become “very high on the priority list”.
