Cut the cost of your daily coffee fix with our top money-saving tips

THERE’S nothing like a coffee to get the daily grind under way, but is your favourite hot drink burning a hole in your pocket?

Us Brits drink a whopping 95 million cups every day, and I’ve been scouring the high street for the best coffee deals to get you the most beverage for your buck.

We give you top tips on how to save on your daily coffee fix

Here’s where you can save on your daily coffee fix . . .

Pret: Pret A Manger recently launched a £20-a-month coffee subscription, which gives members five drinks a day. This includes teas, smoothies and frappuccinos. Plus new members can get their first month free, with the £20 charge starting after the first month.

You could save a fortune if you already take a trip to Pret every day. For example, if you bought a £2.45 latte once a day for a month you’d spend at least £68.60 — so the subscription would save you £48.60 a month.

McDonald’s: Now that McDonald’s has reduced the price of its black and white coffee to just 99p, they’re the cheapest on the high street for sure. You can also bag yourself a free hot drink by collecting stamps. You can either download the McDonald’s app and collect five stamps to get your sixth drink free, or you can collect six physical stamps on a loyalty card to get your seventh drink free.

There’s nothing to stop you collecting both types of stamps at the same time to get two free drinks. Five black or white coffees will cost you £4.95 before you can claim your free one.

Caffè Nero: You can also get a free coffee at Caffè Nero by collecting your stamps every time you purchase a hot drink. You need to collect nine stamps in total to get your tenth drink for free.

You can do this either on the app or on a physical stamp card. Keep an eye on their social media pages as they often announce double points offers. A regular takeaway Americano costs £2.05 — so you’ll spend £18.45 before claiming your freebie.

Greggs: To get a free hot drink at Greggs, download the mobile app and collect seven stamps to get your eighth drink free. You’ll get one stamp for every hot drink you purchase but your reward only lasts for 31 days once it hits your account, so make sure you claim it.

A regular Americano at Greggs is just £1.50, meaning you’ll spend £10.50 before you get your free drink.
