This article provides an overview of how Bitcoin (BTC), Chainlink (LINK), and NEO have been doing over the past 24-hour period, as well as a recap of interesting recent news that might have affected their prices (or might do so in the future).
To give you a rough idea of how well the crypto markets are doing today, 41 out of the top 50 cryptoassets (by market cap) are currently in the green (against the dollar).
All market data used in this article was taken between 08:00 UTC and 08:40 UTC on 21 October 2019 from CryptoCompare, which also generated the price charts shown in this article.
Bitcoin is currently trading at $8,253, up 3.6% in the past 24-hour period.
BTC started the weekend at $7,958, and it stayed under $8K until around 12:00 UTC on Sunday (October 20), when the price reached $8,003. By 19:00 UTC, the BTC price managed to get to $8,277, which is the highest it has been since October 15.
The 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day Return on Investment (ROI) figures are -1.36%, -17.52%, and -16.33% respectively. The good news, though, is that Bitcoin’s one-year ROI is +27.88%.
Bitcoin’s current market cap is around $148 billion, and its market cap dominance is around 66%.
Over the past weekend, in Berlin, Germany, the Lightning Conference took place. One of the speakers was Casa CTO Jameson Lopp, who sent out several interesting tweets during the conference. Here are a couple of them:

Interestingly, Taiwanese manufacturer HTC introduced its latest smartphone, the Exodus 1s, an Android-powered “cryptophone” that can run a Bitcoin full node (the price? around $300 including the $400GB microSD card that you will need).
Among the top 50 cryptoassets (by market cap), Chainlink is currently the highest gainer since over the past 24 hours, the LINK price has gone up 13.58% to reach $2.627. This is the highest level it has been since October 12.
On October 17, Figment Networks announced that “has been successfully running a Chainlink oracle and data processor node for the past several months,” and mentioned that this support of Chainlink’s infrastructure helps to “decentralize their network.”
NEO is also doing well today; currently, the NEO price is $7.339, up around 2% in the past 24-hour period.
On October 17, NEO celebrated the third anniversary of the launch of its mainnet.
