Codefi to launch a new program to help tech entrepreneurs – KFVS

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) – If you’re having trouble getting your tech start up off the ground, a local technology company is bringing a new program to Cape Girardeau to help.

Codefi is working to launch a program called Bounce My Big Idea. The Head of Startup Programs, Crystal Owens says that the program to help technology entrepreneurs better develop their ideas.

“We are hypothesizing that there are tech founders sitting in their local communities Googling, trying to find the resources they need to get their idea off the ground and with this program we are bringing those resources to them,” said Owens. “We’ve created a network of resources and partners called Innovate SOMO and that’s in partnership with Codefi and eFactory out of Missouri State University in Springfield and through that, we’re trying to reach the 47 lower counties of Missouri.”

The four week online workshop will include step-by-step activities, personalized coaching and feedback, and live recorded workshops.

Owens said that you don’t have to have a tech background or know how to code to join BMBI.

“This program is really designed to take folks who have a tech idea and help them figure out if this idea can be desirable, viable, and feasible because most tech startups fail because they actually go out and build the wrong product they haven’t figured out the right solution for the problem their trying to solve,” said Owens.

Owens says they’re hoping the program will create more opportunities throughout the community.

“We’re hoping it’s gonna be a ripple effect through the community,” said Owens. “That if we can find a couple of tech founders in smaller metros where they don’t normally have access to these things, that’s actually gonna have a longer term impact on the local economy as a whole because more tech companies create more tech jobs and tech careers with higher paying opportunities and higher qualities of life.”

Session one kicks off February 20 through March 12. You must apply by February 13 to be apart of the program.
