He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Open Valley Baptist Church. He worked for International Harvester for 11 years and was a retired lieutenant with the Radcliff Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Durward “Dude” and Doris Jean Bailey and an infant brother, Ronald Bailey.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Linda Potter Bailey; two children, Brian S. (Julie) Bailey of Arizona and Rhonda G. (Steve) Lubbe of Virginia; two brothers, Roger (Theresa) Bailey and Billy (Christine) Bailey, all of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Jenny (Louis) Lawson of Radcliff, Carla (Bill) Salleee of Elizabethtown and Ruth (John) Dean of Nashville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Evan Lubbe, Josh Lubbe, Cameron Bailey, Libby Bailey and Reese Bailey; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Brandy.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial follows in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and continues at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
