Chelsea vs Barnsley kick-off time, TV and live stream information

Chelsea enter the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night when Championship side Barnsley make the trip to Stamford Bridge.

The South Yorkshire side beat Championship rivals Middlesbrough 2-0 last week to set up a third round tie with Frank Lampard’s side.

Chelsea have won the competition five times, most recently in 2015, while their lower league rivals have never made it beyond the quarter finals, which they reached in 1982.

The third round match will be decided on the night, with the game going to extra-time and even penalties if the sides cannot be separated.

Barnsley have been EFL Cup specialists so far this season – beating Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough to nil – while losing both their Championship matches to nil.

Those defeats were against Luton and Reading so no shame, but lengthy odds of 12/1 to score another EFL success against Frank Lampard’s side are justified.

The draw is 6/1 while Chelsea are a pretty much nailed on 1/6.

The Blues, however, have kept clean sheets in only two of their last 10 Carabao Cup ties and a Chelsea win and BTTS is a more appealing 15/8 with thepools.com
