Chelsea transfer roundup: N'Golo Kante bid rejected as Batshuayi future resolved

This summer’s transfer window has been a spectacular one for Chelsea.

The club started things off earlier in the year when they signed Hakim Ziyech and have followed that up with deals for Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr and Kai Havertz.

It would seem the club are not finished with their business, though, and that means transfer rumours are still flying around.

With that in mind here is the latest Chelsea gossip.

Chelsea reject Inter offer for Kante

Chelsea reportedly rejected the offer of a swap deal for N’Golo Kante

Chelsea have rejected an offer from Inter Milan for N’Golo Kante, according to the Guardian.

The Italian giants have been tracking Kante for some time, and they proposed a deal that included Marcelo Brozovic. The report states the Blues have also informed Inter that they have no interest in doing a deal involving former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen.

It is said Inter wanted to test the water with a cash-plus-player deal involving Brozovic, but the Blues have turned this down.

This comes after Corriere Dello Sport (via Sportwitness) stated that the Blues would say yes to an exit and are asking for €50million (£46m).

It also stated that Conte felt the Frenchman would make his midfield ‘bombproof’.

Bakayoko missing from squad amid Milan rumours

Tiemoue Bakayoko looks set for a move to Milan

Tiemoue Bakayoko was a notable omission as Chelsea confirmed their squad numbers for the upcoming season.

The former Monaco midfielder struggled after arriving at Stamford Bridge in 2017 and has spent the last two seasons out on loan.

Bakayoko was with Milan for a campaign and then returned to Monaco last term; neither club opted to make their respective loan deals permanent.

However, in recent weeks there have been claims that Milan are interested in doing a deal, and it would now seem his future is away from Stamford Bridge after the club tweeted its updated squad numbers.

The most recent report out of Italy stated that the Blues and Milan had reached an impasse in negotiations and Milan were now considering an ultimatum.

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has returned to Crystal Palace on loan.

Batshuayi, 26, joined the Blues in 2016 from Olympique Marseille and scored the goal that secured the Premier League title in 2016/2017.

Outside of that, he has struggled to earn regular first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge and has taken in loan spells with Valencia, Borussia Dortmund and Palace.

After Batshuayi’s return to Selhurst Park was confirmed, it was announced that Billy Gilmour will inherit his number 23 shirt.

Chelsea also confirmed that Batshuayi signed a contract extension with the club ahead of his move to Palace.
