Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea could target AS Monaco’s Aurelien Tchouameni, while one of their defensive contract rebels could move to Barcelona, according to reports
AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni could become Chelsea’s “Plan A” in the transfer market, it has been reported.
Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is reportedly in the market for a new midfielder following Saul Niguez’s disappointing loan move from Atletico Madrid on transfer deadline day last summer.
It comes as Chelsea face needing to bring in a number of defensive reinforcements in the new year with the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen able to open talks with foreign clubs from Saturday, with their contracts due to expire at the end of the season.
One of those stars is reportedly set for the exit door as they are said to have “no intention” of renewing their deal at Stamford Bridge.
And the Blues are also said to be the “most likely destination” for one defensive target next month.
Here are all the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.
Digne “set for Chelsea”
Chelsea are the “most likely destination” for Everton defender Lucas Digne, it has been reported.
Digne appears set to leave Everton in January and has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with Italian giants Inter Milan also previously said to have held an interest in the player.
But Inter Dipendenza, reports that Digne was scouted by Inter, but has never been a “concrete target” for the Italian side.
With Ben Chilwell being ruled out through injury, Tuchel could now be set to seal Digne’s signature when the transfer window opens.
Defender “close” to Barcelona move
Andreas Christensen is reportedly “close” to agreeing a move to Barcelona.
The Denmark international’s contract runs out at the end of the season with Spanish publication Sport reporting he has “no intention” of signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
Christensen is said to have been negotiating with Barca “for weeks” with the Catalan giants in “pole position” to secure the plater’s signature and an agreement is expected to be reached soon.
Chelsea could pursue French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as a “cheaper alternative” to Declan Rice, it has been claimed.
The Telegraph on the London is Blue Podcast, via the Chelsea Chronicle, report Chelsea could make a move for the AS Monaco star in the near future after their failed attempts to bring the midfielder in last summer.
It seems as though now things are moving positively in the right direction.
