The culmination of Frank Lampard’s season at Chelsea has seen the club secure a place in the Champions League and reach a Wembley final, much to the delight of supporters.
The arrival of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech looks to have laid the foundations for an exciting campaign ahead, and now there is talk the club are ready to sanction several further high-profile deals in a quest to return to the summit of English football.
With that in mind here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.
Atletico president provides Oblak update
Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has confirmed that Jan Oblak will not be leaving the club despite interest from Chelsea.
Oblak, 27, has garnered a reputation as one of Europe’s finest stoppers and is said to be on the radar of both Chelsea and Manchester United as they seek to improve their goalkeeping options.
The Slovenian has been tipped to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga at Stamford Bridge, with Lampard far from convinced by the Spaniard’s performances this past season.
“For me, Oblak, and I speak as an amateur, is the best goalkeeper in the world,” Cerezo told Spanish media outlet Marca.
“Regarding [ Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut] Courtois, he is another great goalkeeper of those in the world, and fortunately, both have dressed our shirt, and with both, we have been champions in many trophies.
“I always say that Oblak has a contract with Atlético and is the best goalkeeper in the world. It is not strange that he has offers from other great teams such as Atlético.
“We have many players, our squad is the club’s main asset. Oblak is a magnificent player and in his position, unquestionably, there is no one to beat him right now.”
Chilwell ready to leave Leicester
Ben Chilwell will inform Leicester he wants to join Chelsea this summer.
Chilwell, 23, is a product of the Foxes academy and considered one of England’s best left-backs. Frank Lampard is keen to improve that aspect of his squad after being unconvinced by both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri.
Brendan Rodgers admitted recently he is relaxed on the defender’s situation.
“It is something I am quite relaxed on,” said Rodgers. “I am fortunate we have a talented group of players which I am sure will interest some.
“All we can offer is a wonderful environment to come and play, develop, work in and improve as a player. We will see where it goes from there over the course of the off-season.”
Chelsea facing competition for former Barcelona defender
Chelsea target Marc Cucurella is attracting interest from both Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Cucurella, 22, joined Getafe last season on loan and the club opted to turn that deal into a permanent one in March for a fee of €6million.
The aim is to now sell him for closer to €27million after a strong season in La Liga, with Chelsea viewing the defender as a more cost-effective alternative to Ben Chilwell.
