Chelsea fans are demanding the Football Association takes action after Harry Kane was caught attempting to aim a headbutt at Cesar Azpilicueta.

A fiery London derby, which evoked memories of the 2016 Battle of Stamford Bridge which saw the Blues end Tottenham’s title hopes following rousing comeback, had already seen Eden Hazard fortunate to escape punishment for a challenge on Erik Lamela.

Referee Andre Marriner did his best to let the game flow but the match was regularly interrupted by tactical fouling and petulance from both sets of players.

Tempers spilled over midway through the opening period when Kane confronted the Chelsea captain and moved his head in the direction of the Spaniard’s face.

Whether or not the governing body will take action depends on whether or not Marriner includes the incident in his post match report.

Chelsea fans certainly thought Kane deserved to be punished which could spell trouble for Spurs ahead of Saturday’s north London derby at Wembley…
