Chelsea fans returned to Stamford Bridge last night and wasted little time in mocking their Tottenham counterparts over the absence of their talisman Harry Kane.

Blues supporters were treated to the sight of the Champions League trophy ahead of kick-off, as captain Cesar Azpilicueta paraded the silverware Thomas Tuchel’s side won back in May following a 1-0 win over Manchester City.

Chelsea were still without several key members of the starting XI that helped secure that victory in Porto, but roared into a two-goal lead over their London rivals thanks to a Hakim Ziyech brace.

Spurs, to their credit, ultimately forced a draw thanks to goals from Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn, but it was Kane’s continued absence that dominated the post-match narrative.

The England captain has made it clear that he wishes to leave this summer with Manchester City his preferred destination.

The Premier League champions, however, are yet to receive an official bid, while Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is refusing to sell, unless City come forward with an offer in the region of £160m.

Conjecture around Kane’s future intensified earlier this week when he refused to show for pre-season training, while it later emerged he was isolating following a family holiday in the Bahamas.

And with their totemic goalscorer missing in action again, Chelsea fans took the opportunity to mock rival fans with regular taunts of ‘where the f*** is Harry Kane?’

New Tottenham boss Nuno was forced to address Kane’s situation after the match, telling reporters: ‘It is not that I don’t want to comment, what I believe that all the issues relating Harry we should discuss internally, among us and try to avoid any kind of public argument or discussion about it.

‘We have to solve the situation but between us.’

Asked whether he intends to talk with Kane, the Portuguese added: ‘I expect to speak with Harry soon, I didn’t get the chance yet.’
