Updated

A Charlton-Pollard Elementary staff member tested positive for the coronavirus, Beaumont Independent School District announced on Saturday.

Beaumont ISD received confirmation of the staff member testing positive for the virus late Friday evening. The staff member was last present at the campus on Wednesday.

“All individuals who were in close contact with the employee have been notified of their possible exposure and are required to quarantine for 14 days,” Beaumont ISD said in a release. “Members of the public that visited the building in the last week should continue to closely monitor their health and contact their health provider immediately should they experience any symptoms of COVID-19.”

Early on Saturday, Charlton-Pollard Elementary School received a second deep cleaning and disinfection. The campus will open on Sept. 21 for employees not exposed to the employee who tested positive for coronavirus, according to a Beaumont ISD press release.
