Biggest losers included NovaGold Resources Inc (TSX:), which lost 8.53% or 1.25 points to trade at 13.40 in late trade. Bombardier Inc (TSX:) declined 7.69% or 0.040 points to end at 0.480 and Canada Goose Holdings Inc (TSX:) shed 6.61% or 1.95 points to 27.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 560 to 472 and 101 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.39% or 6.65 to $1717.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.92% or 0.63 to hit $33.44 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.47% or 1.20 to trade at $35.80 a barrel.
CAD/USD was down 0.12% to 0.7261, while CAD/EUR fell 0.75% to 0.6554.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 98.472.
