CAIT demands CBI inquiry into Amazon bribery allegation

Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has demanded a CBI inquiry on a report that Amazon India lawyers have bribed certain government officials. They have written a letter to the Union Minister, Piyush Goyal, demanding a thorough investigation by CBI on the matter. CAIT also mentioned in their letter that seeing to the seriousness of the matter that pending CBI inquiry Amazon should be directed to suspend their e-commerce portal. This comes after there was a report in media that claimed that Amazon Inc. had initiated an investigation into the conduct of its legal representatives in India. A lot of questions remain unanswered meanwhile there has been no response from the company or its employees.
