The private party will be a far cry from Carrie’s first engagement on the world stage as the PM’s wife this week — as she hosts the partners of world leaders at the G7 summit in Cornwall.
Wedding guests were given a “best of British” afternoon tea and drinks, with the No10 garden kitted out in festival-style decorations.
Guests watched as
Boris, 56, took the hand of his new bride, 33, and hit the dancefloor for the 1971 hit.
A source close to the couple said: “It topped off a wonderful day.
“The band struck up a slower version of the tune and Boris reached his hand out to Carrie as everyone gathered round. They looked so happy together.”
No Cabinet ministers or
Tory MPs were thought to have been invited to the bash, which was capped at 30 due to Covid rules.
The last were seen leaving around 1.30am.
