Body found in pond at La Sierra University in Riverside – Press-Enterprise

A body was found floating in the pond in front of La Sierra University in Riverside on Monday morning, Nov. 29.

Maintenance workers discovered the body about 10:20 a.m. in the pond that feeds a man-made creek and other ponds that run along Riverwalk Parkway on the city’s west side.

Riverside firefighters poked at the body with a net to confirm it was a person and called the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

Out of a concern this could be a crime scene, firefighters left the body in the pond, about 2 feet deep there, until the coroner removed it.

No information on the person, including age and gender, was immediately available.
