Ballon d'Or 2021 rankings in full: The world's top 30 football players unveiled

The Ballon d’Or ceremony took place in Paris on Monday, November 29, with Lionel Messi going into the event as favourite to claim the trophy for a seventh time. There are 14 Premier League players in the world’s top 30 players, including Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne, and Chelsea’s Jorginho.

The Ballon d’Or is the most prestigious individual award in world football.

It’s been handed our every year since 1956 to one lucky player – except it was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

Messi holds the record for the most Ballon d’Or titles, with six.

Ronaldo is the closest to Messi’s stunning record, just one trophy shy of the Paris Saint-Germain forward.
