Baker McKenzie toasts rising profits

International firm Baker McKenzie has reported higher revenue and profits in an upbeat set of financial results. For the year ending 30 June 2019, the firm saw profits rise by 2% to $1bn on revenue up by 1.2% to $2.92bn when the effect of adverse currency exchanges is taken into account, or by 4.4% when it is not.

Profit per partner grew by 3% to $1.48m.

According to the firm, standout markets included London, Prague, Bogota, Warsaw, Istanbul and Buenos Aires.

Acting chair Jaime Trujillo said: ‘Recording 4.4% growth in a market as challenging as this is a good result. The investments the firm continues to make in legal services, the centres of excellence we have opened in lower-cost locations, and more effective partnering with clients have enabled us to show profitable growth.’
