Arsenal transfer latest: Ruben Neves discussed, £25m Liverpool battle, Edu 'agreement'

Arsenal are working hard to bring in new signings before the end of the January transfer window. Mikel Arteta is yet to bring in any new faces to the Emirates this month with just four days remaining to get deals done. Several players have been allowed to leave the Gunners either on loan or on a permanent basis.

Arsenal are targeting a midfielder and striker signing this month.

Nicolas Pepe and Mohamed Elneny are set to be available in February following their participation at the Africa Cup of Nations to give Arteta more options.

But the Spanish boss wants to add further depth, with the futures of strikers Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Eddie Nketiah all in doubt.

Express Sport brings you the latest transfer rumours around the north London club.

£25m Liverpool battle

Arsenal are one of three Premier League clubs interested in PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo, according to Foot Mercato.

Liverpool and Manchester City are also linked with the Holland international.

Gakpo has six goals and 10 assists to his name in 15 Eredivisie appearances so far this season.

Foot Mercato claims the 22-year-old would cost around £25million, with Arsenal potentially looking to sign him in the summer after he penned a one-year extension at PSV on Thursday.

Gakpo, who came through the youth ranks at PSV, has one goal in four caps for Holland.

Isak latest

Alexander Isak looks unlikely to join Arsenal this month as the club’s striker search goes on.

Spanish football expert Alvaro Montero says neither Real Sociedad or the player want a deal to happen in this window.

Montero told Sky Sports News: “I was speaking to people from San Sebastian, inside the club at Real Sociedad, and they say 100 per cent he is going to stay.

“The player wants to stay in the club, he renewed last summer I believe until 2026.

“His clause is about €90m and he wants to play with Real Sociedad and stay in the club, playing in Europe.

“So I will say it’s impossible for him to leave La Liga and leave the club.”
