Arsenal have their next Aaron Ramsey who can help transform Mikel Arteta's fortunes

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is facing a hectic summer transfer window, with a squad overhaul looking likely. The Gunners are bracing themselves for the possibility of missing out on European football next season.

Arsenal are facing the realistic prospect of missing out on European football next season.

The Gunners are tenth in the Premier League table, and are just a point above Aston Villa – who are one place below them with a game in hand.

They face West Brom on Sunday night in a must-win tie for Arteta, who will apparently be sacked at the end of the year if the Gunners are still in mid-table.

Arsenal’s board will apparently support the under-fire boss with a big spending spree this summer.

Reports suggest he will be backed significantly in order to strengthen his squad for next season.

Arteta is expected to go after a new creative midfielder to permanently replace Mesut Ozil, with Martin Odegaard on the club’s radar.

However, he might already have the ideal solution already within his squad, with Joe Willock thriving out on loan at Newcastle.

The Gunners are known for their ability to bring young players into the first team, with Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka all showing their ability in the first-team.

”He’s enjoying his football,” Bruce said.

“We have taken the reins off him and let him run forward and that was probably what we didn’t have enough of in January, that forward-running midfielder who likes to score.

“We’d love to keep him but he has got a big future.”

Newcastle are expected to try and sign Willock permanently this summer, but Arsenal will likely want to slot him into their first-team next year.
