Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has left the door open for the Gunners to give fans something to cheers as the transfer window winds down at the end of the week. The Spaniard is yet to add to his squad this month but might freshen up the roster he inherited from Unai Emery with a couple of signings before Friday night’s 11pm deadline.
Speaking after Arsenal’s 2-1 win at Bournemouth booked their place in the FA Cup fifth round, Arteta confirmed the club are still actively looking for new recruits.
“We are in the market,” Arteta said. “We are looking for some things with the resources we have and we will tell you when we have more news.”
Arsenal set up a showdown with Portsmouth in the next round of the cup, but first up have to contend with a potentially tricky Premier League trip to Burnley.
Sean Dyche’s Clarets have won their last two top-flight games – against Leicester and Manchester United respectively – and will be out for revenge following their 2-1 Emirates defeat back in August.
