The council made a motion agreeing to the contract contingent on changes recommended by the League of Minnesota Cities and the city attorney being implemented. This was done, and mayor Brian Hitchcock signed the contract Friday.

On Feb. 18, the council interviewed six candidates for the position opening with the city: Isaac Dietchler, Kasey Klasen, Reid Watson, Alex Jones, Allen Poncelet and Karl Haisman. The candidate hired will also be responsible for maintenance of highways street and roads.

A special meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 23 for the purpose of deciding which candidate to offer the position to based on the interview point system. Wages for the position will also be discussed, with $20 per hour suggested as a ballpark starting wage.
