GOOD MORNING CHELSEA FANS
England right-back Reece James returns for Chelsea at Fulham tonight as Frank Lampard’s men bid to end their dismal Premier League run.
James, 21, is back in full training after hurting his hamstring against Arsenal on Boxing Day.
The Blues have picked up just four points from six games, dropping to ninth.
So perhaps that’s one reason boss Lampard is reportedly reluctant to let Olivier Giroud and Fikayo Tomori depart this month.
France striker Giroud’s talks with Juventus have stalled as the France striker wants a much longer contract than the six months on offer.
West Ham and AC Milan too are still being linked with the 34-year-old.
And Milan also want to borrow centre-back Tomori, 23 – but Lampard lacks defensive cover.
Nonetheless, the Blues hope to raise funds and clear the decks a little for their reputed main target – West Ham’s versatile England ace Declan Rice.
Reports suggest Chelsea have made “further enquiries” for the 22-year-old this month.
And finally, Blues’ forgotten midfielder Danny Drinkwater, 30, is close to joining Turks Kasimpasa on loan until the end of the season.
