22 Best Black Friday Laptop Deals (2020): HP, Apple, Lenovo, Accessories – WIRED

Specs: Intel Core i7 CPU, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD

Dell’s latest XPS 13 is one of our favorite laptops (9/10 WIRED Recommends). This model lacks the 4K screen that we tested, but it has considerably better battery life. The 11th-generation Intel i7 chip is plenty fast for most things (I edited 4K video on it with no issues), and the 16:10 display adds some welcome extra headroom when browsing the web and editing documents.

HP Spectre X360 13 for $950 ($350 off)

HP Store

Specs: Intel Core i7 CPU, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD

This 13-inch convertible from HP offers Intel’s latest 11th-generation i7 chip with the new Iris integrated graphics that should give the i7 series a speed boost even without a dedicated graphics card. That’s been my experience, so far anyway. I have not tested this precise model, but it should be able to handle most anything you throw at it, short of more graphics-intensive games.

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga for $1,140 ($700 off)

Lenovo Store

Specs: Intel Core i7 CPU, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 4K Screen

The X1 is Lenovo’s premiere 2-in-1 and there are a variety of configurations on sale. Because these sell out quickly, I’ve linked to the main X1 page. The specific configuration listed is part number 20QFS19Y00, which has an i7 chip. It’s a great deal for anyone wanting portability and power. If you want the 4K display, that model is also available for $1500 ($700 off). To add to the confusion Lenovo has separate coupon codes for each model, but automatically applies them, so you shouldn’t need to worry (but make sure you’re getting the discount).

Dell XPS 15 (2019) for $1,500 ($350 off)

Dell Store

Specs: Intel Core i7 CPU, GeForce GPU, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD

The 15-inch XPS isn’t as svelte and portable as the 13-inch, but along with the larger, heavier form factor comes a discrete video card (Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1650, 4GB) and 8-gigabytes of RAM. The 2020 XPS 15 impressed me (8/10, WIRED Recommends), but that was with the 4K screen. I have not tested the 1080p screen found in this deal.
